Immediate-Load “Teeth in a Day”: How All-on-4 Same-Day Teeth Work
Specialist Prosthodontist · Taki Dent, Antalya
"Teeth in a day" — immediate loading — means you leave the surgery on the day of implant placement with a fixed temporary bridge of teeth, instead of waiting months with nothing or wearing a removable denture. It is possible because four to six implants splinted together into a single rigid bridge share the load and stay stable while bone heals around them. It is safe and well-evidenced when the implants achieve enough primary stability at placement and you eat a soft diet during healing. Not everyone qualifies — very soft bone may need a delayed approach. Taki Dent provides same-day fixed temporaries in most All-on-4/6 cases.
What does "teeth in a day" actually mean?
It means that on the same day your implants are placed, a fixed temporary bridge is screwed onto them so you walk out with teeth — not a gap and not a removable plate. The temporary is replaced a few months later by the stronger permanent bridge once the implants have fused with the bone.
This is the headline benefit of the All-on-4 concept. Traditional implants often required months of healing with no fixed teeth before anything could be attached. Immediate loading compresses that into a single day for suitable patients.
| Immediate load | Delayed load | |
|---|---|---|
| Teeth on surgery day | Yes (temporary) | No — heal first |
| Requires good stability | Yes | Less critical |
| Healing diet | Soft for weeks | Soft for weeks |
| Best for | Most All-on-4 cases | Very soft bone / grafts |
How can teeth be fixed on the same day?
The secret is splinting. Individually, a fresh implant is too unstable to chew on. But link four to six implants together with one rigid bridge and they brace each other, dramatically reducing the micro-movement that would otherwise disturb healing. Angled placement of the rear implants also lets the surgeon engage denser bone for better initial grip.
The threshold is primary stability — how tightly each implant is held by the bone at the moment of placement, measured by insertion torque. If that figure is high enough, immediate loading is safe.
Is it safe, and who does not qualify?
It is well-documented and safe in well-selected cases, with survival comparable to delayed loading. The main requirement is sufficient primary stability and bone quality. Patients with very soft bone, certain grafting situations, or extremely heavy uncontrolled grinding may be advised to heal first and load later. Following the soft-diet instructions in the early weeks is essential — the day-one teeth are real, but they are not yet bone-anchored.

Frequently asked questions
Are the same-day teeth my final teeth?
No. The day-one bridge is a fixed temporary. Your stronger, more natural final bridge (usually zirconia) is fitted a few months later once the implants have integrated.
Can I eat normally straight away?
No. The implants are stable enough to wear teeth but not yet fused to bone, so a soft diet for several weeks is essential to protect healing.
What if I am not suitable for same-day teeth?
A small number of patients with very soft bone may need delayed loading. Your CT scan and the insertion torque at surgery decide this — your specialist will tell you in advance.
